I am a carpenter. I spent most of my career building new custom homes. When the housing market crashed I was forced to find work outside of home construction. I looked around for a "JOB" outside of construction and had very little luck. Funny I have operated my own carpenter business and ran crews for others but am not qualified to work in fast food or at the home improvement stores.
I started doing odd jobs for friends and family like painting and roof repairs and I realized I had a good knowledge base of most things inside of homes. I seem to know a little about most things you find in a house. I also have very good problem solving skills and can figure most things out.Some say that I am "HANDY" Painting came to me pretty easy although I had to learn about proper priming and quality of different paints.
I posted a sign on Brawley School road a few years back and it did not take 24 hours to get my first call. Remodel a duplex. New roof,paint,tile,plumbing and light fixtures,custom closets and bookshelves....
I took the job and completed it. All of it. I hired some of my family to: my brother is a roofer,cousin electrician even used my niece to help paint. We all worked together and did a great job. That customer has called me back several times for other projects.
Since then I have learned a lot! And gotten better at certain things especially painting and drywall work.I have had many repeat customers and referrals. This web site has worked very well and continues to help me make new connections and continue to work. THANKS ALL
